Wacky ideas for ATM menu

One touch of your fingertip and you access gold and diamonds! World’s one-of-a-kind concept ATM, Gitanjali Group recently unveiled an ATM which dispenses diamonds, jewellery items, gold and silver coins.
Taking a cue from this, we asked Delhiites what other commodities do they want an ATM to dispense? Read on for hilarious suggestions.
Shereen Iqbal, a student, says, “Well, if you can get your hands on jewellery, why not movie tickets and my favourite kajal, which is hard to come by? It’s an interesting concept, and I am sure there will be takers for it.”
Not a sucker for materialistic things, artist and art director Boishali Sinha Massot says she is game for some adventure. “I’d love it if the ATM can suck me in and I enter a different world, just like Jumanji. What a great, fun experience it’s going to be.”
IT professional Sushant Kapoor would love to pick up beer from an ATM on his way home from work. “Besides money, I think men won’t really care for any other stuff. Beer, alcohol sounds good, as it’s going to be a quick visit to the ATM without having to walk into a mall, or a roadside liquor store.”
PHD scholar Nabila Sadiq says, regular dispensers for sweets, soft drinks and chocolates is passé. She says. “For us, essential day-to-day things and even medicines for emergency fits the bill. Over the counter medicines and in some cases prescribed medicines can be bought by maybe entering the doctor code or such thing.”
However, Class 11 student Vasundhara Singh Bhatti can’t stop herself from naming all the high-end brands. She says, “Luxury brands like Louis Vuitton, or a Versace dress. These ATMs or whatever we rename them, can be just placed outside the brand’s store. So even after shopping hours, one can easily key in the right size on the menu, select and pick stuff.”
