Vroomful of fashion
With less than a week to go for the Formula One Grand Prix at the Buddh International Circuit, the excitement is building by the minute. Even though several fans cannot watch the race live, many are eagerly looking to don the popular elements of Formula One and keep up the racy mood!
It’s all about being sporty and elegant. Bring out the jackets with zippers, sporty shoes, hot pants, sunglasses and T-shirts, claim designers. Athlete Reeth Abraham is curious to know what the trends will be like since it’s the first ever Indian Grand Prix, “Formula One is as trendy as the Derby, so apart from the sport, there is a lot of fashion to look out for.”
Designer Raj Shroff feels Formula One is one of the trendiest sports ever, “Sports bars across the city must maintain a fitting ambience for such an exhilarating sport. Zippers are the best way to step up the sports quotient. Team it up with T-shirts of your favourite team and maybe a sling bag.”
Formula One merchandise is raking big bucks for many, as flags, caps and even mugs are very popular with F1 enthusiasts. Fashion experts advise taking a tip or two from foreign counterparts to keep up on the style meter. During the Korean Grand Prix, fans could be seen sporting flags of their favourite teams as skirts and halters. Designer Neetu Gupta agrees this is a chic trend, “You could incorporate a flag in more ways than that. Try making a scarf and tying it to your bag or just sling it over your shoulder.”
