Spending weeks and months on tutorials are slowly becoming passé, as one can now opt for new-age tutorials that will take just few hours and within a day you can learn things instantly. Usually, dealing with specific subjects and topics these short tutorials are now getting popular with college students and professionals, who wish to hone their skills in one go.

For instance Tutoring ‘D’ Street (TDS), an educational setup, that offers a custom-made training program to people in learning Microsoft Excel and its various functionalities within a day. The initiative started by two young entrepreneurs aims to bridge the gap between classroom teaching and real life knowledge. Abhinav Verma and Rajat Singhal, the directors of TDS say, “We have created a short program called ‘Excel quickie,’ which contains all the knowledge about Microsoft Excel in a nutshell. In a single nine-hour-workshop, we teach our students about the various aspects of this topic. There are various modules for the same, and we usually customise and mould it according to the needs of our clients. There is also a 24x7 helpline that students can use to call and clarify problems.”
An online tutoring portal called Tutorchapter.com is also actively helping students with specific topics and homework related matter. Akshay Gupta, CEO of Tutorchapter.com opines that online tutoring makes a tutor available 24 hours-a-day and many students prefer this concept over regular tuitions. He says, “We teach all subjects and offer help in homework and projects across the globe. Through Skype and video conferencing, we also provide tutors on an hourly basis. The hourly tutoring is more cost effective because students can directly shoot their problems and get it solved instantly.”
