It is almost that time of the year that most men dread — buying their valentine the perfect present. You surely don’t want to repeat last year’s gift, lest you incur the wrath of the other side of your pretty girlfriend/ wife. If you’ve run out of ideas, here’s not one, but five ways that you can please the love of your life – with gifts for her five senses.

Sight: Surprise her with that single piece of diamond that she was eyeing for the last year at the jewelers. Or, if she’s someone who appreciates art, a portrait of her can work wonders

Sound: While making a mixed CD of her favourite songs for her to dance to on your V-day dinner out, is not out of the question; there is nothing like taking her on a night out for a concert. Hold hands at the concert and indulge in an evening of enthralling music

Smell: There is no better way of saying this, women love perfumes. Gift her a bottle of her favourite scent. If your girl is feisty, go for the bergamot scent, or something floral if she prefers a softer fragrance.

Taste: Stay in and if you dare, cook her a meal on Valentine’s day — most restaurants will be booked out anyway. If you’d prefer, order in from her favourite restaurant and set up a nice table for two in your terrace, under the stars.

Touch: Buying her some sexy lingerie works best. The rest, we leave to your imagination.
