Tech rules Tarun’s expo
The fourth edition of designer Tarun Tahiliani’s couture exposition started in the capital at DLF Emporio with a techno touch. The couturier’s annual display of his grandeur bridal collection is a much-awaited event that has a unique theme every year.
This year the theme “jewel-box” was in accordance with the vibrant hues of the trousseau he designed for the brides-to-be.
Talking about the theme Tarun mentioned that a jewel box stands symbolic for the anticipation, the treasured hopes and dreams of brides. He mentioned, “The ensemble on display are culturally rooted, yet have highly contemporary sensibility. One can new fabrics, drapes and some very elaborate techniques with a lot of colours. Also, for this edition, we’ve created our most ambitious and spectacular lehenga with many Swarovski elements.”
Another highlight of the expo was a limited-edition 55” inch 3D Vu Tarun Tahiliani Couture TV that was designed and styled by the designer. The couture TV comes with Swarovski crystallised edges and has special features like 3D viewing. Devita Saraf, CEO, Vu Technologies, spoke about the collaboration of fashion and technology, and revealed, “We have designed a limited edition of luxury TV in association with TT. This TV can be connected with a camera and one can make 3D videos and watch it on the big screen. Viewers can also enjoy other 3D movies with the help of special glasses.”
