Weaving a dream
It must have been a germ of an idea — in Hanif Sattar’s case, a thread, perhaps. A high-end tailor, Hanif’s real passion lay in fashion. Marrying the supportive Minna would help Hanif translate his dream into reality — he created Basics Life, a brand of the company Hasbro Clothing Pvt Ltd. Hasbro today is one of the leading manufacturers of clothing and accessories for men.

Behind every successful man...
The journey to build up their dream wasn’t an easy one; it took 20 years to accomplish what they had set out to. From his humble beginnings to great accomplishments, Minna encouraged her husband. Alongside, Minna, (a self-confessed health freak influenced by her mother, an exercise instructor for 27 years) also began teaching classes in aerobics, imparting awareness about the importance of a healthy lifestyle.

Shopping for the soul (mate)
With Hanif’s interest in all things related to style, Minna is fortunate indeed that he likes to take charge of shopping for her. “My husband plays a huge a role in the clothes I pick for myself. He comes up with great advice,” says Minna, who, left to herself, doesn’t really make an effort to be fashionable. “I prefer the classics — one can never go wrong with those!” Hanif thinks choosing Minna’s clothes is the least he can do. He says, “I shop for her even when she’s not around. Living with her for so many years, I believe I know what looks best on her.” And it shows: Minna and Hanif are a well groomed couple.

Globetrotters
Travel is another interest the couple shares. They have spent many summers travelling the world, and the cultural sights of Europe and Asia have been a huge influence in the way Minna and Hanif perceive fashion, and this finds its way into their designs. “America is the only place left to see,” adds Minna.

Mommy is the best
The couple likes spending their free weekends with family and friends. When asked how their kids respond to having health and fashion-conscious parents, Hanif replies, “The boys are quite enamoured by the industry and they’re influenced a lot by their mom. Even though we think they are ‘one boy too many’, Minna takes a lot of effort to make sure they look their best — even in their sleep!”
