Being in the glamour world does not ensure that you are always perfectly dressed. Bad hair is not the only reason to ruin your day; there are times when a perfect dress also seems to go wrong. Recently, Hollywood actress-model Kelly Brook said that she regrets her fashion choices every day. The 33-year-old admits that she doesn’t always dress immaculately because of her busy schedule, and ends up looking back at photographs of herself with regret, reported femalefirst.co.uk. “I have regrets every day. I sometimes see pictures and think, ‘Urgh, why did I put that on?’ I’m a busy girl and I don’t always have time to put a perfect outfit together,” Brook said.
However, unlike her, Delhi socialites claim they never go wrong because thorough pre-planning ensures that their wardrobe is not just suitable but always picture perfect.
Budding designer Nikita Tandon says there are hardly any chances that a girl goes wrong with her fashion choice. “Honestly, dressing up comes naturally to girls. No matter how busy they are, they will always dress up nicely because most of the time you know what works for your body type. If your wardrobe is correct, and some amount of pre-planning is executed each day, nobody will have to wear just about anything. They will always step out prim and proper and there will not be any chance of regretting your fashion choice,” says Nikita.
Designer Mandira Wirk, who herself dresses up immaculately besides designing for others says, “Frankly, I feel it’s all got to do with your comfort level and how you keep yourself fit to sport any outfit. Being in an uncomfortable ensemble with low self-esteem can make anyone regret his or her fashion choice. But what ultimately works is your confidence level and choosing the right outfit for the right occasion. A gown may not suit every occasion, while something as simple as a white kurta pyjama works on every occasion — accessorise well and you can enter a party in a white kurta pyjama. Guess being in glamour world helps us know what works and what does not. It’s an added advantage.”
Socialite Tanisha Mohan says a little black dress works in every last minute situation. “Thankfully, I make sure that I give myself a proper glance before stepping out. If I feel that something does not work, then I do not wear it. I personally make a conscious effort not to step out without full preparation. And if I have to leave in a rush, nothing works better that a LBD, a nice clutch and wedges. I bet you can never go wrong with these things,” says she.
Fashion stylist Sheetal Bahirat says, “Being a stylist, I have many a time heard people talking about the mistakes they make. But I always advise everyone to dress up nicely no matter where they are going and who they are meeting. Being organised, investing in right clothes and accessories works for all.”
To this Mandira adds, “I recommend one takes out time to try on a new outfit and then step out. Even if you spare 20 minutes, you cannot go wrong.”
