SLB to revive hand-made posters
Bollywood is on a mission to promote films in a unique way. Everyone’s trying to bring something different to the table when their films are slated to hit the marquee. First, it was Aamir who gave a makeover to the ushers in theatres
during Gajini. Then there was Salman who used his real-life bodyguard to promote his latest blockbuster and now, Shah Rukh is going all out with Ra.One merchandise. Following suit is filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali who has already decided to launch an exhibition around the release of his production venture Rowdy Rathore, next year. “Sanjay will be launching an exhibition of posters showcasing different looks of Akshay Kumar in the film. The unique thing is that the posters will be hand painted — something that the industry stopped using more than 20 years ago after the advent of digital posters,” a source tells us.
The exhibition will be unveiled when the promotion of the film will begin. It is being helmed by Prabhu Deva and stars Akshay and Sonakshi Sinha in the lead.
“The film is slated to release in June next year and the exhibition will take place sometime before that,” adds the source.
The action film is the third remake of the Telugu film Vikramarkudu. Apparently, Akshay, who is playing an IPS officer in the film, is learning combat karate for his character in the film.
