Signals are always green for this duo
Freelance photographers, Shameer and Shafeeq Ali are all set for a bike trip covering 22 states to spread awareness on nature conservation. They hope to create awareness among people about the increasing natural calamities through this journey called ‘Tree Belt’.
The idea of this journey was conceived a year ago. Shameer plants saplings whenever he can and extends financial help to cancer and kidney patients. He is also a frequent blood donor. Shameer says, “I plan to start from Kochi and cover all the state capitals. The Bullet will be sporting placards with social messages on the front and rear. We will be carrying 10 to 12 litres of water and 3 litres of petrol. There are some places where petrol pumps are nonexistent for about 250 km.”
Several organisations have come forward to help them with the logistics and the money. They started their journey on the morning of July 28 from Kaloor stadium in Kochi.
