Shutterbugs Ladakh-bound
Adventure junkies and photography enthusiasts have their bags packed for their next adventure. Ladakh is their destination and travel groups are wooing them with interesting photography journey packages.
India by Foot has organised a 10-day Hemis Photography Expedition/ Workshop, June 14-24, offering photographers the opportunity to capture the world famous, annual fest though a photographer’s eye. On the itinerary are places like Nubra Valley, Pangyong Lake, Drass and Kargil. “We want to make the expedition an enriching experience for photography pros as well as travel enthusiasts who’d like to explore the beauty of Ladakh. The highlight of the tour will be daily assignments, interactive review sessions with emphasis on the art of the ‘photo essay’,” says Ramit, co-founder India by Foot.
If you have just bought a Digital SLR and want to get to know your camera, Travelling Photography (TP) has roped in three ace photographers Prashant Panjiar, Palani Mohan and Yannick Cormier for the Masterclass Photography Workshop (August 7 to 19) and the Basic Photography Workshop (August 20 to 31).
Photographer and founder TP, Varun Gupta, who is working on a photography book on Ladakh says that the region is a treat for shutterbugs. “The landscape, the monasteries, the incredible weather-worn yet smiling people — it’s all so inspiring for a photographer.”
Budding photographer Payal Jain, who’s set for a photography holiday to the Hemis Festival says, “It’s the toughest and the most beautiful terrain in the world. Anywhere the camera goes, makes for a perfect picture there. It’s going to be a dream journey for me,” she says.
