Salman copies his doc’s dance moves
Kamal karte ho yaar. Zyada question karoge to itne chhed karunga…” muttered Salman Khan as he launched the music of his forthcoming film Dabangg, in the capital on Friday evening. Unleashing his witty side, voicing the dialogue from his film, he made the evening fun and entertaining, a la Salman style.
His new moustache look is already getting popular, and Salman gives the credit to actress Sonakshi Sinha, his leading lady in the movie. “This look was suggested by Sonakshi in an attempt to make me look like the character, Chulbull Pandey. Interestingly, it’s a moustache similar to Shatruji’s.”
Salman, who plays the role of fearless and corrupt UP cop in the movie, is seen doing jhatkas and matkas in many songs. And all the moves in the songs, he says, are inspired by real-life characters. “Chulbull’s dance should be in his ishtyle. Two steps in the song Hud Hud Dabangg are inspired by the way my doctor in London moves and the way my make-up man shakes. There is also one favourite move of Arbaaz.”
Talking about Sonakshi, he says, “Yeh khamosh bahut achcha bolti hai (she copies Shatruji’s khamosh quite aptly). She is a very nice actress, but I had to work hard to make her lose the extra kilos.”
And when asked how was it working in his brother’s debut production, he says, “Here nobody complained about my coming late to the sets unlike other filmmakers. I made the atmosphere more relaxed with lunch breaks, followed by more breaks. Only Arbaaz can describe the pain,” he laughs.
When asked about his continued association with music composers Sajid-Wajid, he quips, “They are good but not my favourite. I have worked with them for years now, just like I did with Himesh Reshammiya who has become a famous actor and is now competing with me, I cannot sign him anymore.”
Salman also shares screen space with bhabhi Malakia Arora Khan in an item song Munni Badnam. When asked who can give competition to Malaika in item numbers, pat comes the reply, “Shilpa (Shetty) and only Shilpa.”
