After years of struggle and unfailing effort when Haryana boy Vikas Khoker’s dream of winning the MTV Roadies title came true, it took him some time to soak in this newfound success. However, the Roadies winner is now eager to get more accolades and is gearing up for more meaty projects on television Vikas, who started his career as a call-centre employee, is ready to leave his job in the capital and shift to the city of dreams — Mumbai.

This young model-turned-actor is vying for more reality based shows.
He says, “Winning Roadies’ season nine was the turning point of my life. I received `6 lakhs, a bike, a laptop and a smart-phone; but more than that, it boosted my confidence to an entirely new level. I got a lot of respect after this show, and now everywhere I go people recognise me and ask me about my experience on the show.”
He adds, “Apart from the instant recognition, the reality show taught me some of the most important lessons of my life. The journey to the USA was very enthralling as it was my first trip abroad. I enjoyed my stay in San Francisco, Los Angeles and other cities. I made some really nice friends on the show and learned how to cope with severe mental pressure. Now I want to go a step further and participate in the Bigg Boss. I have started taking acting and dancing lessons which will help me hone my skills as an actor. After beating 13 contestants on the show and being under the scanner now I can also face the camera with ease.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
