‘Roadies was an eye-opener’
Youth-based reality shows are quite popular among the adolescents as they find it easier to connect with the participants. One such popular show is Roadies known for its harsh tasks that the contestants have to go through.
We recently caught up with Palak Johal, the winner of Roadies Season 10, who was in the city. “Apart from your skills, luck also plays a crucial factor in winning the show. I am still trying to digest the fact that I am the winner! To be frank, I have seen people breaking down after winning a show and wondered why they were overreacting. But now, I can relate with their feeling,” shares the elated winner.
Sharing about her best moment on the show, Palak says, “I think one of the most exciting tasks on the show was mud-wrestling, which was also the money-earning task for the team.”
For Palak, who managed to defeat 16 other contenders, the worst moment was when she went inside the coffin.
The reality shows apart from giving a new platform to the contestants, also play a vital role in honing one’s talent. “I think I have improved as a person after participating in the show. While being a part of the show, one is under great pressure to perform, to adjust with fellow-mates and make strategies. Also, there is a lot of backbiting on the shows. In real life we get all these experiences in installments. But in reality shows we get a good dose of all that together,” says Palak.
