Rare wine from Renieri at `22,000
There are wines and there are Tuscan wines. And to sample some of the greatest flavours of Tuscany, one needn’t go all the way to Italy anymore. Two mesmerising limited edition bottles of Renieri Brunello di Montalcino — Magnum Edition have made their way to India. The iconic Renieri wine has a characteristic of dark red berry fruit, vanilla and abundant notes of pungent pencil leads and tobacco leaf. The wine is 2003 vintage and there are only two bottles available.
The exclusive bottles of Renieri are of Sangiovese varietal and a lengthy process of vinification and maturation is required to transform into a classic Renieri Brunello di Montalcino Magnum Edition. The wine is given a double ageing and the process takes place in a barrique and lasts about two years during which the sediments are removed by frequent racking.
The Montalcino is priced roughly at `22,000 per bottle.
