Rana makes his peace with Vikram
Recently, Tollywood hottie Rana Daggupati who made his debut in B’town with Dum Maro Dum, took to task National Award winner Chiyaan Vikram for his remarks about him in his interview to a national daily. Rana ranted on twitter and attacked Vikram and in no uncertain terms implied, ‘mind your own business’.
However, after the issue went out of proportion with both stars’ fans waging a Twitter war, looks like Rana made truce with Vikram after speaking to him and apologised for his harsh words. He tweeted on Monday, “Spoke to actor Vikram finally, says it’s a misquote from what he actually said. Glad the air is cleared apologies to him and his fans for my harsh reaction”.
Apparently, reacting to a query about how south stars had never made it big in Bollywood, barring Kamal Haasan, Vikram said, “Kamal Haasan had Ek Duje Ke Liye (1981), which was the biggest hit that year. Then he had Saagar (1985). After that he hasn’t done anything. It’s not easy to leave your business down south. You get paid a lot in the south. Here you have to start from scratch. For girls it’s different as they do their PR well. Look at Rana Daggubati. He started in the Telugu industry and came to Bollywood but he hadn’t made any headway in the south...”
An irked Rana took to twitter: “Dear Mr. Vikram... It is best if you focus on your career that is n ‘t headed in the right direction with close to 10 odd disasters in your kitty I’m barely 2 ½ yrs old as an actor and you are almost close to 25yrs”.
It’s unfortunate that sometimes a spur of the moment reaction can put years of cordiality built up at stake. However, Rana took his words back and set things right with Vikram. Perhaps, it would have helped if Rana or his team contacted Vikram before taking to a social networking platform.
