His comical performances on dance reality show Nach Baliye 5 are quite entertaining. But recently Rahul and Dimpy Mahajan touched everyone with their heart-wrenching tribute to his father Pramod Mahajan, for the first time on Indian television. The much loved Nach Baliye jodi was recently in the capital to hunt for the 12th dancing pair from the public for the fifth season of the show.

“It’s always a great feeling to be with your fans. I love being in Delhi, the crowd always surprises you with an overwhelming response. We have come across some really good dancers in the capital. I’ll be delighted if one of these talented couples becomes the 12th Nach Baliye Jodi,” said Rahul.
Rahul feels dancing is a great means to keep fit and is one of the best mediums to express one’s feelings.
“When I came on the show, I didn’t know that dance could actually make it easy for me to express my feelings without saying anything,” said Rahul.
Talking about the tribute to his father Pramod Mahajan, Rahul said, “The act wasn’t aimed at getting more votes or points. My performance was just a way of expressing what I felt for him.”
And wife Dimpy is glad that they went ahead with it because according to her, it brought a sense of closure for Rahul. She is also thankful that Rahul didn’t break down during the act.
Former model and reality TV star Dimpy admits dancing with her husband Rahul steals away all the limelight because people are keen to watch him.
“Rahul takes away all the limelight because he is too adorable and everyone knows he cannot dance,” smiles Dimpy.
Dimpy, 24, who had tied the knot with Rahul on the TV show Rahul Dulhaniya LeJayega three years ago, says she does face a lot of difficulty dancing with him as he is from a non-dancing background.
She quips, “When Rahul is on stage, he makes sure that he alters the original step to such an extent that it becomes a new and fresh step in itself.”
The couple agreed that the main reason behind taking up the show and competing with 11 other pairs was to spend quality time with each other.
“Every couple should try to speak out their hearts aloud by taking up dancing. It is such a beautiful art form that ignites a passion between the two. Since, we both are involved in one show, we are getting to spend maximum time with each other,” Dimpy said.
The couple will complete three years of togetherness in March. “I went on the show thinking it was a sham. I was not serious about my wedding because I was just 21. But, from the beginning, Rahul was very serious about marriage. I met him on the show and found that we are two crazy people with similar interests. We tied the knot and I don’t regret it. I am very happy with him,” she said.
So what is the couple planning after the dance reality show? “Now, we plan to take a break from the small screen and give some serious thought to family planning,” Dimpy shares, adding, “I have been working since I was 16. I want to take a break now. I want to have a complete family now.”
