Now ordering alcohol is just a click away. For those who like to relish international beverages, here’s a website that can deliver your favourite drink to your doorstep within minutes. Letsbuydrinks.com is one-of-a-kind online beverage website where one can order various kinds of alcoholic drinks and have it delivered the same day.
The website is a brainchild of three friends, of whom two, Dhruv Khandelwal and Amit Goel, went on to make the idea a reality. Currently, the services are only provided in Delhi and Gurgaon, and delivery of the products can take anywhere between 30 minutes to a maximum of two hours.
Speaking about the concept, Dhruv Khandelwal, co-founder of the website, says, “We really thought that this could work and the demand for such a platform is there in the market, since we had also wanted the same but there was none to offer such a service in the internet industry. It is an endeavour to bring convenience to party buffs and leisure drinkers.”
The website that was launched a few months ago has received good response so far. Speaking about the strict measures that the website follows to ensure safe drinking, Dhruv mentions, “Since it is both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverage website, we have certain rules and restrictions for members of this online service. We have a system to check and verify if members have uploaded their genuine ID on the website. We contact people over the phone and ask him/her for the type of ID and its number they have uploaded, and if we still feel that something is wrong, we block the suspected account from further logging in on the website, until we send out our team in the field to manually verify that the person is genuine and check their IDs at the address provided by the customer.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
