Online help for students
There is good news for those studying or planning to study in Delhi University (DU). According to latest announcements the varsity is set to launch various helpline systems for students. Soon, DU is planning to come up with an official Facebook page, DU’s own radio station and an online interactive website for queries and other information related to the university. Students are happy to learn about the latest developments and hope it’s implemented soon.
Since many students are already active on Facebook, they feel it’s important to be a part of their university page as well so that they can get the latest information.
Akriti Mathur, a student from LSR College opines, “These days everyone is on Facebook and many organisations have an official page where they interact with members directly. If there are any issues or problems that need to be addressed soon, students can simply go and post it on the FB site, which is a convenient way and open to all.”
Krishanu Mukherji, a journalism student at DCAC College feels it’s a great idea to start DU’s own radio station to interact with fellow students and faculty. He says, “Some colleges already have their own radio stations that offer a great platform to students to interact with each other. DU’s own radio station will be great, as qualified people would interact and guide students in academic matters. It’s a big university and there are so many events that go unnoticed because of lack of awareness. Such initiatives will help students to know more about their university.”
For lakhs of students, who are part of the University it’s a big problem to seek information related to courses and fee structure. The new helpline aims to provide detailed information without any hassle. Kanika Shukla, a student of SRCC says, “It’s great that DU has taken an initiative to offer quick solutions to students through various helplines. The online interactive system where one can directly communicate with the Vice-Chancellor of the university sounds good. There are so many issues that people face in colleges, but due to the lack of communication they rarely get resolved. I hope these helplines can make a difference and provide a healthy platform to students to share their experiences in DU.”
