Nida to showcase Indian pop art in London museum
The pretty and petite designer Nida Mahmood, who made a dhamakedaar entry with her quirky project New India Bioscope Company to revive the old poster making art in fashion, is all set to get a new feather on her hat. After seeing her interesting creations over the past two years, the world famous Victoria and Albert museum, London has approached her to present a series on Indian popular culture.
The excited designer tells us, “It’s a huge project and so they have approached us a year in advance. I am feeling great as this is a prestigious honour for the work that we have been doing through our company.”
Nida revealed that the project is scheduled for 2012 and the Museum is putting together a perspective on Indian pop art focusing on her collections. She says, “What I have done so far in my past few collections will be on display at the museum. I will be meeting delegates from the museum next week to finalise details. But I would definitely like to present the Bollywood-inspired posters and works of our artists on clothes and other products that we design.”
