Motor skills collapse!
At Rs 749, this is a dubious Hasbro indulgence peddled in India by Funskool. Cuponk is Tiddlywinks in a generous sized electronic cup. Thirty challenge cards have you jumping on one leg while trying to dunk the ball in the cup. Bouncing it off the wall, on to the table, and into the cup on the floor and more!
The card tricks allow you between one and five attempts depending on the degree of difficulty.
The second official Cuponk ball in the box isn’t a thoughtful back up. Incredibly, there is a challenge card that involves tossing both balls into the cup simultaneously, one bounce off the floor.
If you make a trick, you keep the card. Collect three cards, you win the game. I pre-judged Cuponk through jaundiced eyes — this smelt suspiciously like a silly party game, played distractedly, with much hysterics and manic laughter. The cardboard box pack had the feel of one of those overpriced imported breakfast cereals. I chose the Monstrosity’ cup design. The game is ridiculously difficult. 1.5V AAA batteries are required for flashing lights and sound effects to celebrate your more successful moments. I needn’t have bothered with the batteries!
