The morning after
Late-night parties or erratic work schedule can stress out your skin. One of the main reasons why your skin is not fresh after a late night is that you have forgotten to cleanse your skin. Age-old beauty sleep is one of the keys to a radiant-looking skin. Skin care expert Tashnu Khariwala, Training head of Japanese skincare house, Shiseido gives you quick-fix tips to get the desired look.
A 10 minute quick-fix mask
Use any intensive brightening mask, which hydrates and nourishes tired skin, reduces blemishes. It also helps to reduce visible spots and gives a flawless complexion. Another quick skin fix is a primer before your daily makeup routine, to even out your skin for foundation to glide on smoothly. To get an instant lift, try highlighting cheekbones with glitter dust or a dust of bronzer to get a fresh tanned and gorgeous look.
Eye touch
The evil dark circles can be done away with a brightening eye cream. Choose an optical light diffusing one to cover dark circles and reduce puffiness. For stubborn dark circles take a frozen cucumber slice and place it over your eyes for 5 minutes. Follow it up with a yellow concealer and dot it from the corner of your eye to the outside and blend with an applicator brush. Use a concealer with a pink, peachy or yellow undertone to neutralize the blue and green in circles. Avoid using eye shadow in plum, purple or red.
Dos and Don'ts
Always have make up wipes. After a late night when your skin is dehydrated use a moisturiser or a thin layer of hydrating mask. Follow the 4-step skin care regimen - cleansing, softening, moisturizing and protection. Before stepping out use a moisturizing sunscreen cream with SPF 30 on your face and other exposed skin areas.
Makeup blunders you need to avoid - Incorrect foundation hue, noticeable blush stripes, pencilled-in eyebrows and partially lined eyes. Use tinted moisturiser with sunscreen while travelling. Using a concealer that is in a stick form or a pot will make it easy to apply. Apply a light layer of pressed powder to set the makeup and to keep shine and oil to a minimum. Powder will also help keep makeup on longer. Mascara will help draw attention to the eyes for a more dramatic appearance. Use lip gloss to keep lips looking fresh and moisturised. A light pink or champagne colour works well for daytime, keeping a richer berry colour for evening. An illuminating product can help to give skin a glow.
