Jennifer Aniston flaunts a natural, wavy look

Are you in a what-look-to-get rut? Flipping through stars hairdos in glossies, but everytime you plop down in the stylist chair to try a new look from a weathered magazine clipping or even in today’s day and age as beauty goes hi-tech with apps and softwares that show how you would end up looking, it gets puzzling. So, what can you do for a haute new look?

The crowning glory
Melroy Dickson, national education manager, Matrix who trains artistes on the latest hair trends says every girl would want a Jennifer Aniston look or every guy would want a Pierce Brosnan look. Melroy feels that grass is always greener on the other side. There are websites and apps that will show you how you would look with a certain style, but most of the times it gives an air-brushed picture perfect look that might be a farce. Also, the textures differ from person to person. Everyone has varied density and growth pattern.
It’s very easy for a machine to put some styles around your face, but how practical is it? Understanding hair is about knowing someone’s psyche, including the person’s lifestyle, texture and how to maintain it later, which softwares cannot really do.
Scrunch out the crunch
If you have heavy curls and want to go in for soft layers all of a sudden, then you need to know if you can keep that look on your own without running to a salon every time for a blow dry. It’s easy to see a straight hair created out of the software look or a wild cat look, but it’s best to keep your natural style intact and play around with creating different looks with what you have, instead of going against it. So if someone has curly hair, the best way to play around with it to use the scrunch technique, to make the curls more defined. Even diffusers can be used.
Mane DIY
There was a time when perms were really big, but now it’s all about going natural and easy or even a worn-out look. Even if you follow the runways around the world, no one is going OTT.
To get a wavy, scrunchy beach hair, work with damp hair. Spritz damp hair with texturising spray to get a scrunchy look. Don’t comb through it with a thin-rimmed brush. Just get the tangles out, add some mousse and start scrunching your hair every few minutes. Once the hair is dry and wavy, grab a curling iron and select pieces of hair and twirl it around. Never wrap it tightly, just enough to get it a twist. Add a small amount of an anti-frizz serum and finger comb out the curls. You should have random ringlets twisting every which way — creating the perfect beach girl look. This is a look that’s making waves globally.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.
