Letter swap tranquility
Wordz! sounds suspiciously like a numerology-driven branding choice, with singularly inauspicious spelling skills for a word game. But get over that and the colour lozenge styled letter tiles, and you’re onto a good thing.
Swap letters in white to make words, as each swap is marked with a hollow click. Getting a word right has a celebratory chime and the now correctly placed tiles morph into the word colour. Wordz! is not much of a visual treat compared to some of its counterparts. But if you’ve spent moments puzzling over scrambled words sections of newspapers, Wordz! will charm you with its innocent sincerity. Solve a word grid and move to the next level. With each round the word grid changes and grows. Expecting seamless word connects on the horizontals and verticals, the first few rounds confused. Once I figured that similar coloured tiles define the word area to unscramble, it all fell into place. It’s important to not get ahead of oneself in this sort of game. The simplest words when scrambled, can be the hardest to decode. To get through a round successfully, there is only one solution for all letter swaps.
