Learn management with a US twist
When an alumnus from Stephen’s college realised that there’s an urgent need to provide management courses for professionals, he came up with an idea to bring an exclusive course for them. So now young professionals in the capital can look forward to a course, which will give them an edge over the rest in the industry.
“The programme has been designed in partnership with Jones School of Business at Rice University in Houston, USA. The faculty will be drawn from America. This is a world-class business and entrepreneurship education initiative. The idea is to give working professionals a quick course to enhance their skills,” says Dr Walson, principal, St. Stephen’s College.
While there are many universities, which offer similar business education courses, what makes this one different is its course structure. “We will have just two classes on the weekends. The subjects will involve deep understanding on how management practices evolve, and how new practices can be best adopted by traditional and emerging Indian business sectors,” Dr Walson explains.
As exciting as it may sound, it isn’t just the Stephen’s tag, which is attracting young professionals, some tell us how they’re looking forward to more such courses.
“If they offer courses which promise better employability there will be more takers. There are many colleges offering diploma or degrees but they lack quality. I just hope this course is promising enough,” says Shrey Kapoor, who works with an MNC.
