Leander is a hardworking actor: Jimmy
He isn’t bothered about being labelled a serious actor or the length of his role. If the character he plays stays in the minds of the audiences for long, then Jimmy Shergill’s a happy man. The actor is playing a cop in sportstar Leander Peas’ debut film Rajdhani Express,
Talking about working with Leander in RE, which is being partly shot in Delhi, Jimmy shares, “Though my character in the film never actually gets to meet Leander, I have met him on the sets. He is a nice person and I must say a hardworking actor,” he says.
Jimmy insists that he’s not a serious actor and his career has been all about expermenting. About his choice of roles, he says, “Gone are the days when actors would go out asking for roles. The dymanics of the industry have changed a lot. If a filmmaker has a role for you, he will fix up with you simply over an SMS. And I just pick up the best of what is offered to me,” he says.
He is presently busy with Saif Ali Khan-starrer Bullet Raja, Sahib Biwi aur Gangster sequel, Four Two Ka One, Special Chabbis and the Punjabi film Rangeelay. Along with Bollywood, Jimmy is committed to Punjabi cinema. “I do at least one Punjabi film a year. I am a proud Punjabi and glad of the fact that I am able to keep up my committment,” he says.
