Lean look works for new-age actors
Body is a medium of acting and good actors know how to cash it well. The looks and sizes keep changing with every new release, yet the bottom line remains the same —to look hot. A few years back, we saw a phase in film industry when it
was a must for male actors to flaunt a chiseled torso, and having a six-pack was a prerequisite. Recently, actor Prateik Babbar and Ranveer Singh too were photographed with their six-pack abs for their upcoming projects.
However, it’s not necessary that a six-pack torso can do wonders for all the actors equally, and from time to time a lot of unconventional actors have managed to win hearts without the help of a six pack abdomen.
Karan Chauhan, a marketing profession and health freak, says, “It’s not necessary that one has to get six pack abs to look hot. Guys these days swear by a lean structure, something like Arjun Rampal. Even though Arjun had a six-pack abdomen in Ra One, I prefer his earlier look with a linear structure and a good sculpted body. Most of the guys in my gym also aspire to be lean and fit instead of going gaga over six-pack abs.”
A lot of women also find the “lean and mean” look more attractive than the muscular type. Ayushi Verma, a boutique owner, says, “I think actors like Ranbir Kapoor, Abhay Deol and Farhan Akthar with their lean bodies are hotter than the macho mans of our film industry. They look fit with a slim physique, and thus they can pull of casual clothes too with a lot of style.”
Agrees Prachi Shah, a first year DU student, who thinks that actors with a slim body type look young and active. She says, “I’m not very fond of muscular heroes and I think lean look works for me more. The older actors usually sport six-packs because they need to constantly reinvent themselves in order to survive in the industry. If the younger breed also follows the same trend blindly they’ll look funny since their body will be too muscular compared to their immature face.”
