Katrina to sizzle with Rajinikanth

It is confirmed! After tossing with several beauties including Anushka, Vidya Balan to play opposite superstar Rajinikanth for Kochadayaan, it seems Soundarya Ashwin, the younger daughter of Rajinikanth who also directs the movie, has zeroed in on Bollywood babe Katrina Kaif for the most desirable role. In an earlier interview to this newspaper, Soundarya had revealed that she was looking for a Bollywood heroine since she wanted someone with a pan Indian appeal as the big budget film is being made in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu.
“Yes, it is true! Talks are on with Katrina and soon we hope to finalise her for the project if all goes well,” Soundarya confirmed to The Asian Age. Sources said that Katrina who is presently busy with two Hindi films is keen to share screen space with Rajinikanth and is expected to go to any extent to adjust her dates. Soundarya also said that the ‘Awesome First Look’ of Rajinikanth from Kochadayaan will be unveiled this month end. “Plans are on to release the first set of promos by January end.”
A period film set in 3D version, Kochadayaan is said to be based on the life and times of Pandia emperor named Kochadayaan belonging to 735 AD. Rajinikanth essays the title role, the king who is known for his bravery and chivalry. Kochadayaan also refers to Lord Shiva and Rajini is a devotee of the Lord in the movie. Katrina plays his love interest. A.R. Rahman who has scored the music said that he has given a new sound to Kochadayaan’s music. He also said that the background score will be on a grand scale with some world renowned musicians being roped in. Sneha has been signed to play Rajini’s sister.
