Insight into TESO world
More footage of The Elder Scrolls Online was shown last week at Quakecon 2013. Players witnessed the gameplay and combat for the first time, and Zenimax’s MMO turned out to be surprisingly true to the Elder Scrolls universe. Key elements this franchise is famous for, such as the character creation tools and the ability to crouch are present in TESO. Players will be able to fully customise their characters, and change every little detail. The HUD also looks very similar to Skyrim, complete with a compass and the health and stamina bars.
The gameplay felt familiar and Zenimax has definitely given us a game true to its source material. However, I am a little skeptical of the combat. It has never been a strength of the Elder Scrolls games, but MMO combat is a different turf because if the combat isn’t fun, the number of hours a player will invest in their game will be limited.
Although we have no proof that the mechanics and gameplay of Elder Scrolls will work in an MMO, and whether it will be any different from all the other MMO’s out there. For now I remain cautiously optimistic.
The Elder Scrolls Online will release on PC, Play-Station 4 and Xbox One in 2014.
