How to be a weatherman
It’s raining heavily all over the country. Sometimes this is attributed to global warming and at others to unusually heavy monsoon showers. Whatever be the case, the climate is always a hot topic for discussion.
The weather is constantly being measured all over the world. This data goes into weather maps that you can find on the Internet (http:// eo.ucar.edu/ webweather/ ). These maps show cold and warm fronts, rainfall, cloudiness, and other information. However if you explore a little more than just looking at the climate patterns you will learn what makes weather wet or hot and sticky. A little digging around and you can also create thunder and lightning, find out what makes blizzards, how blizzards and winter impact our lives, how thunderstorms form, how tornadoes affect our lives, etc.
And if all this were not enough you can also try your hand at other cool activities — make a hot air balloon, make it rain, create a portable cloud and even make a frog in a jar.
Not satisfied? Then why not try your hand at weather forecasting on Web Weather for Kids! Click on Predict the Weather and then on the ‘weather underground’. Do not enter your pin code. After a while a map will show up. Click on the visual of Asia and proceed from there. This way you could see who’s right: the weathermen or you!
Have loads of fun!
