HOGs riding the thunder for a noble cause
At the time when most people are doing their bit to raise money for flood victims in Uttarakhand, Harley Davidson Owners’ Group (HOGs) pledged 14,000 km to support families affected by the tragedy. The group, including 100 other riders from Delhi and NCR, raised `25 for every kilometre they rode and donated the sum to Aidmatrix.
“It was our way to give back to the society. We all are passionate bikers and through this initiative our passion could translate for the betterment of Uttarakhand,” says Ambika Sharma, the only woman rider from the team.
Gaurav Gulati, a regular rider says, “I agreed to be a part of this noble cause because I wanted people to change the image they have for riders. I wanted to tell the world that we are normal human beings who think of the well being of the society.”
The campaign recently culminated with a ride from Vasant Kunj to Noida, in which a number of riders participated. “We all came forward proactively because we know how our money is being utilised. We are aware of the venues where the money is being spent,” ends Gaurav.
