High iq monsters
If you see the distinctive Smart Games logo on any of the mutli-level logic games, be assured that it’s going to be a riveting experience. Cannibal Monsters is another addition to the spectacular series of single-player IQ power build games.
Priced unashamedly at Rs 799, it’s a thing of beauty. A joy to behold. And exquisite torture through each of the four difficulty levels and 48 challenges!
The game narrative is conflicted. There is some clichéd play on the survival of the fittest, as an eager copywriter tries to whip up enthusiasm for a game he probably hasn’t really played. It’s all rather unnecessary. The 12 brightly coloured transparent monsters come with varying numbers of eyes and horns. Their bases are jagged, squared and curved. The 4x4 white play grid sets up a delightful visual contrast with the near neon monsters.
Moving horizontally and vertically you have to build the single monster stack, the challenge demands of you. Browse through the solutions at the end of the book, which interestingly doesn’t spoil the game either.
If Optimus Prime is a part of your vocabulary, you’ll appreciate the very Transformers-like nature of the monster stacks you’ll build. The game demands a rigorous mix of logic, strategy and spatial perception. As in real life, it pays to think before you act. And when things get really bad, find the resolve to dig down deep, and start right over!
