Hiatus helps Tamannah
Tamannah might have stayed away from Kollywood for various reasons. The film circles are buzzing with rumours of someone blocking her entry in K’town. But her strategy to stay away seems to be working in her favour. The vivacious beauty, who has a wonderful career in Tollywood, is steadily rising in Bollywood as well.
Though she didn’t hit it big with her first Hindi film, Chand Sa Roshan Chehra, her second, Himmatwala, is showing plenty of promise. What’s more, the grapevine has it that Tammu has now bagged her third film in B’town even as Himmatwala progresses at a brisk pace.
According to sources, The Paiyya girl will be sharing screen space with Akshay Kumar in the Hindi remake
of the Chiranjeevi-starrer, Tagore. Directed by V.V. Vinayak, the film had Jyothika and Shriya Saran playing the female leads. Tagore was itself a remake of the Kollywood blockbuster, Ramana, produced by Aascar Films. The movie, directed by A.R. Murugadoss, featured Vijayakanth in a different light, it took a stand against corruption. In the lead was a college professor who unites his students and impels a movement against wrong-doing.
Reportedly, Sanjay Leela Bhansali has acquired the remake rights of Tagore and Vipul Shah is touted to produce the Hindi version on a suitably lavish scale. Akshay will reprise Chiru’s role. As earlier reported, sources confirm that Jayam Raja will be making his directorial debut in Bollywood with this flick. Good news on this lass’s front!
