Heroes of the comic world
Angelina Jolie and former model Carla Bruni will soon be seen in their new comic avatar as they make it to the independent comic company Bluewater Productions’ hall of fame. Termed as “Female Force”, the comic aims to fill in the blanks in the lives of both controversial and world famous celebrities. We asked youngsters in the city, which Indian celebrity’s life would they love to see in a comic book form.
Eighteen-year-old Sumit Roy, a student, thinks Arundhati Roy would make an interesting comic book heroine. “Atleast we’d get to know what she actually wants! But on a serious note, I feel graphic novel representation of Konkona Sen Sharma would be a good inspiration for the youth for she comes from a rich cultural background and is immensely talented.”
For Prateek Shah, online evangelist Rajnikanth is a living icon in the country who gives people enough action and amazement just through his films. “To see him in a comic book avatar will be nothing short of a dream with guaranteed entertainment for all age groups thanks to the creativity with which stories around him are conceived.”
Interestingly, celebs who have achieved high at a young age and continue to do so are the top choices among many.
For comic and tattoo artist Arush Bakshi daredevil Akshay Kumar is a superb comic book material. “He is so cool, his stunts, and fantastic comic timings, he has the perfect entertainment quotient.” And not lagging behind are heroines, Sharmee Bhuta-Divan, spiritual healer says, “I believe in women with essence. So my vote goes to both Priyanka Chopra and Sushmita Sen whose lives seem like a fairytale. They both were coveted winners of crowns at such a young age — Miss World and Miss Universe and both live on their own terms.”
Controversial Rakhi Sawant hasn’t escaped this list either. Media professional Nivedita Sharma avers, “I am keen to know how her life was before she became what she’s today. Is there any truth in what she has been saying? Also, she is not less than a comic character keeping in mind her latest role as insaaf ki devi.”
