Healing the heels
The only thing that works against a pair of stylish high heels, is the pain one needs to endure to keep them on for long hours. But with a little help from Botox injections, this problem can be easily taken care of.
Botox injections not only facilitate facelifts, the technology can work wonders for the feet too. The practice, which is quite prevalent around the world, is finding patrons in India too. Doctors are using the procedure to treat a condition called “stilletotarsal” caused by years of wearing high heels. In this condition, the pain hits the soft tissue on the ball of the foot known as the metatarsal area. Botox injections are effective in curing the problem by injecting the healing chemical into the ball of the foot. Also referred to as Botox fillers, they come as a saviour of high-heeled women.
Dr Manoj Khanna, cosmetologist, says, “The muscles at the bottom of the feet go into spasm after prolonged periods of wearing high heels. When botox is injected into the muscles on the bottom of the foot, it stops the muscle from going into spasm, which subsequently numbs the foot pain.” Since high heels don’t seem to be going out of fashion anytime soon, Botox fillers are expected to become as common as facelifts and breast enhancements in years to come.
