Game for edu-fun?

After spending some years in the US, when Akshay Sethi and Anjana Menon returned to Delhi with their one-year-old twins, they were not aware that their kids would not get any recreational facilities in the rapidly developing Delhi-NCR region. They were surprised that unlike US, there were no such places in Delhi where parents can let their kids free to discover their own paths.
“With Stellar Children’s Museum, we are trying to introduce the concept of educational play in India. Kids can come and spend time here. For them, they are only playing, but at the end of the day, they are actually learning something, everything here is based on science,” says Sethi.
The gallery in Gurgaon, divided into seven zones, uses the science of gravity, magnetism, invented car, planes and much more. The zones provide interactive learning and are named — Invent it!, Build it!, Discover it!, Create it!, Live it!, Explore it! and Splash it!. These seven zones give the kids a chance to explore various scientific theories and also engage them in experimentation, designing, construction, geography, water fun, social skills and much more.
“Like the basic rule of gravity says that if you drop something from above, it will fall down. But creating obstructions can change its path. So, we have created a ball track. Now, kids will drop the ball from above but can also create tracks to change its path and understand the science,” he says.
Anjana adds that the place has been developed keeping child ergonomics and child safety in mind. “The kids won’t have difficulty in understanding anything, as there would be educators around. Plus, all the equipment here have been made keeping the age-group (two to eight years) in mind and are rounded at the edges so that the kids don’t get hurt,” says Anjana.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
