Game addiction for free
Plants vs Zombies 2 does not necessarily bring anything new, but it’s still one of the best free-to-play titles on iOS.
While many were cautious given the game's shift to a free-to-play model, there is a surprising amount of free content available which makes it possible to finish the entire game without having to pay a single penny. The game is divided into three themes, each with its own selection of levels and bonus content. After finishing the final level in one area, you can earn up to 3 stars per level. These are limited to bonus objectives such as collecting at least 2000 Sun or not losing more than 2 plants, and get progressively harder.
The idea behind the subscription model of Plants vs Zombies 2 is simple. You need to collect a certain number of stars in order to unlock the next area, or you can unlock it for `270. It takes a little time and skill to earn those stars, but it is not impossible. You need to place plants strategically on a tiled background, in order to survive the oncoming zombie attack. Plants cost currency, (here Sun). Certain plants give you bonus sun, and having a solid number of such plants provides you with resources that is necessary to your success. Plants vs Zombies 2 has a significant amount of different units, each with its own defensive capabilities. Glowing enemies drop boosters, which can be used to power up any plant and unleash a devastating attack.
The F2P nature of Plants of Zombies 2 has no effect on gameplay, which is its biggest strength. The in-game mechanics are addictive. It gives players hour of interesting content at no extra cost.
