Fresh and fabulous!

Beauty expert, Sushma Khan, National trainer, make-up, Lakmé Salon shares tips on absolutely amazing ways to perfect the day-to-night look. Here are some easy ways to transition from your desk to the dance floor.
Creative canvas
Why wait for the weekends to achieve an absolutely perfect day-to-night look? Isn’t it tempting to hop on the dance floor right from your desk? Here’s how you can look flawless in no time with quick make-up techniques and air-brush technology. A few must have products that are essential to carry in your beauty kit that can slide in your work bag include the following.
Vanity intact
Compact is the first miracle and works magic on your face. It is a blend of powder and foundation and you can quickly apply it during your drive to and from office. Before applying the compact on your face, you should wash the face with warm water and massage it with a tinted oil-free moisturiser. Post your evening board meeting and before heading out, just use a silver or gold highlighter to get a metallic effect and add a dressy yet stylish look. The goal when applying highlighter is to get a reflective dewy look.
Peach perfect
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if we all had enviably high cheekbones like Kareena Kapoor or Angelina Jolie! Peach blushers will give you a dewy look. Sweep a small amount of blush across your cheekbones for a vibrant and natural look. According to your skin tone you can select a cream base or powder base blusher. This will help you neutralise grey undertones.
Lips don’t lie
Coral lip colours are a must. Coral is a neutral colour and it can be both warm and cool so it works for everyone. It will both compliment and complete your look. Avoid being over adventurous by using overtly dark lip colours. Most working women avoid wearing make-up throughout the day except a dark lip colour in hues like maroons or reds. This highlights your skin’s flaws and makes your face look dull. It is advisable to use a blusher on your cheeks rather than a dark lip colour, if you want to keep your make-up minimum for work.
Eye-do
When heading out from work, you can apply thick lines of kajal, starting from the inner corner towards the outer corners of the eyes otherwise it gives an unfinished look. Ensure that you keep the line really thin on the inside and going a bit thicker towards the outside.
Applying eye make up on unkempt eyebrows is a big no-no and will make you look tired. Blend mascara, kohl pencil and liner for a dramatic effect. At night you can wear two to three codes of mascara and curl it with bottom lash line.
