Fastest finger first for Frag fest
If you are an avid gamer who spends more time with his gaming console than his girlfriend, then Frag fest is the place for you. Blur, along with online gaming website/community Frag-Nation, is organising a three-day gaming contest.
Videep Vijay Kumar, experience manager of Blur, explains, “Frag-Nation is one of the most popular online gaming communities in Asia. We have designed this competition in collaboration with them. It’s not just for hard-core gamers and we also have events like bowling.”
Frag fest features seven games in all, including two team events and five individual events. Both team events will be conducted on the PC in the games Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Search and Destroy), and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 (Team Deathmatch). Individual events will be held in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Free-For-All on PC), FIFA 12 (PS3), Tekken 6 (PS3), Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty (PC), NASCAR (Arcade).
The organisers believe events like these will spread more awareness about e-sports. “A popular magazine had recently written that e-sports could be included in the Olympics by 2020,” laments Sameer Hussain, founder of Frag-Nation.
