‘Farhan is the real Don’
“Kaun kehta hai chamatkar nahi hote, mujhe dhyan se dekha hai,” said Priyanka Chopra mouthing her favourite dialogue from Don 2 — The Chase Continues, as she along with Shah Rukh Khan and Farhan Akhtar interacted with Delhiites at Ambience Mall, Vasant Kunj.
For director Farhan Akhtar, Don 2 is a childhood fantasy come true. He shared, “I have grown up watching Don and was always fascinated by the character. I always had this dream of taking it forward. I was misquoted when it was reported that I have refused to make a third part of the series. But truth is, as a director, I want to explore other genres and my creativity, and would like to make Don 3 only if I have a good script.” Farhan also launched the graphic novel Don: The origin, which is a gripping tale of how Don came into being.
Dressed in white trousers and a green jacket, Priyanka was confident and happy about her third full-fledged action role as Junglee Billi aka Roma in Don 2 after Drona and Don.
“This marks an opening for a new genre for me as an actress. Actions roles are cool for me and I love doing them. I dedicate all my stunts to Bibi, my stunt double, who passed away while on a vacation. Although women in Bollywood don’t have much of a role in action movies, I hope the scenario changes soon. Also, Indian actresses should come forward and be open to women-centric action roles,” she said.
Flaunting his temporary ‘D’ (for Don) tattoo on his right arm, Shah Rukh Khan talked about kids and returning to negative role in Don 2.
“Although I play the role of a notorious criminal in the film, I make sure that I do not do films which can have a negative impact on children. I do films that my children can watch and understand. I have not used foul language in the movie. Children nowadays are very smart, because they have access to the Internet and all kinds of programmes on TV. So it is important for me as a father to choose my films responsibly,” he says.
SRK is seen performing some daring stunts in the film. The star says he was initially scared to do the stunts, especially the one in which he had to jump off a 300-feet building. “I was very sceptical about doing the stunts. I did have a body double but there are certain stunts that I did myself. I had to jump from a building and when I was standing on the edge I asked myself, ‘Why am I doing this? Romantic films are a better bet’. Actually, Farhan ander se real don hai. He has skydived some 99 times and so he helped me a lot during my stunts,” says King Khan.
