Fans gear up for Weekender fun
The music aficionados in the capital have a reason to rejoice. The popular Bacardi NH7 Weekender has announced the line-up and the tickets are out on sale. This year, the festival starts in Pune from October 18 to 20, then travels to Bengaluru and makes a stop in Delhi on November 30 and December 1. Chic feat. Nile Rodgers, Meshuggah, Mutemath, J.Viewz and Michal Menert will be among the international headliners at the Delhi edition. Ska Vengers, Faridkot, Papon, Lucky Ali, Sandunes, Karsh Kale Collective and Rajasthan Roots will constitute the desi line-up.
Manish Seth, director, marketing and sales, Bacardi puts forth, “The artist line-up is a great mix of new bands waiting to be discovered, bigger artists you would definitely would not want to miss and as always something special reserved for the end. We hope to create great memories and experiences for our fans. One can look forward to some more art at the festival this year and some very special sets by the bands.”
The festival will feature six stages this year also. The Dewarists Stage, the Eristoff Wolves Den, the Bacardi Arena, The Other Stage and the Dub Station all make a comeback in 2013. The sixth stage is to be announced soon.
Singer, composer and producer Papon says, “I love the warm vibe and happy feel of the Weekender and I am glad to be a part of it. Apart from my usual repertoire of songs, one can expect to hear a couple of fresh songs that are absolutely new.”
“We’ll be playing material from our two records Sampooran and Saptak, which will consist of classical-based material and Sufi poetry. We like the receptivity and positive response of the audience,” say members of Mekaal Hasan Band.
The tickets are priced at `3,750 for season pass and `1,500 for under-21 season pass.
