‘Embarrassed by linkup talk’
He may not be a conventional looker, but that doesn’t mean Arjun Kapoor doesn’t get his fair share of squealing girls and air-kissing women. In fact, this Kapoor has been told by none other than reclusive filmmaker Aditya Chopra that he would get a considerable amount of attention from the fairer sex.
“Aditya Chopra had told me that I may not be the best looking guy, but I will get a lot of attention from women and girls. And he was right! I know for a fact that I’m not as popular as Ranbir (Kapoor) but I do get a lot of attention from them.”
Knowing that he’s the cynosure of their eyes is one thing, but that doesn’t mean that the Ishaqzaade star is comfortable handling it. He coyly admits, “Well, I’m shy and awkward. So I really don’t know how to handle all this attention, but I guess I’ll learn along the way.”
Arjun maintains that contrary to the angry, young man image that he has thanks to his on-screen roles, off it he is rather cool and relaxed. “My films have shown me as a hot-headed fellow, but in reality I am quite calm and well-behaved. I don’t fly off the handle all that easily.”
His unruffled demeanour breaks into sheer embarrassment only when he reads about his alleged liaisons with his co-stars. While he is fond of all of them, being romantically paired leaves him red-faced. “I like them all. However, when I read about my so-called linkups with Anushka, Parineeti and Aalia, I get embarrassed.”
