Elusive cure to a cunning virus
A day after I met with the folks at AyurVaid, I found myself hunting down a virus in The Cure from Thinktank Games. Volume 17 from their Brain Teaser Collection is a two-player 20-minute challenge. Can the cure track down and eliminate the deadly virus?
The Ayurvedic holistic approach to well-being addresses the root of the problem rather than the symptom. In an eco-system of 30 interconnected nodes, the virus is always a step ahead. I played the role of the cure. The wretched virus twisted and turned.
The game box write up assures me capture is always possible. I don’t see how. Twenty minutes are long gone. The virus flirts outrageously with danger, hovering close and hardly ever retreating. The answer lies in a plan that will move her onto one of those extended nodes from which no escape will be possible. But given that cure and virus play alternate turns, short of stupidity on her part, the contagion will spread, and any hope of cure will be lost.
My approach to The Cure has been unworthy. Careful note-taking of stimulus and response will follow. I will carefully observe how the virus responds to every move of the cure. And study varying patterns across competitors I chance upon. This is a worthy cause!
