If you’re a high heel junkie and want to give them a new look everytime you step out, try the new heel accessory called the Heel Condom. Simply slip the condom (little shoe add-on elastic band) over the heel of your stiletto.
They come in a variety of styles like furs, feathers, stones or flowers to turn your plain Mary Janes into runway chic.
Quite popular at the international forum, heel condoms have been introduced for the first time in India by an online website BeStylish.com. Shailen Amin, CEO of the website, explains, “It is slowly becoming popular in India. The liners or condoms are reusable and handy for travellers. One just has to carry a pair of shoes with couple of these heel condoms to don a different look with every outfit.”
From bright neon shades to light colours, these are priced at `1,000 onwards. “Heel condoms are available in two styles. While the original heel condom fits stilettos ranging from 2 to 5 inches, the panty style heel condom fits all heel types, be it thin, thick, high or low,” explains Shailen.
And with an attractive moniker ‘Heel Condom’, young fashion divas are looking forward to experimenting with them. Says Gunjan Kapur, a self-confessed shoeaholic, “I’m a shoe lover and would love to play around with different colours and accessories to make my footwear look bright and stylish. It will protect your heels and hide your cracked heels in a chic way. It’s a great way to have more variety for shoes in lesser price.”
