With fashion statements for the season just about beginning to emerge from the ongoing New York Fashion Week, it is the beauty trends that have already made a striking impression. And if the look most well received on the runaway be our guide, then we can safely proclaim that red lips and intense eyebrows are the trend du jour.
The Donna Karan show at NYFW exemplified the trend, matching flaming red lips with dark brows, with actress Nicole Kidman’s recent look on the red carpet at the Toronto FIlm Festival cited as a reference. Bold brows were also seen in the Bobbi Brown show.
To get the look, experts recommend pencilling in your brows in a dark shade, touching up your lips from time to time to ensure they retain colour and keeping the rest of your make-up, including the eyes, extremely minimal.
Goth purple lips made an appearance at the Marchesa show while for Rag & Bone, a bright orange lip was the star of the show.
