Desi version of Suite Life

Actor Shruti Seth is back on the small screen as a young mom to twins Karan and Kabir in desi version of Disney’s popular American kids show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody. The show, The Suite Life of Karan and Kabir, that went on air recently is about how lives of twins — Karan and Kabir (portrayed by Siddhartha Thakkar and Namit Shah) — change when their mother Priti Jaiswal (Shruti Seth) gets a job as a manager at the city’s swankiest hotel and also gets an upper floor suite in the hotel.
Shruti says that it was fun shooting with the kids. “Handling two kids on the sets took me to another world. I learnt a lot about handling kids,” she says and adds that the show has been revised, keeping in mind the sensibilities of the Indian families.
Unlike in the original where the mom, Carey, is a single mother and a performer at the hotel’s nightclub, in this revised version the show avoids talking about Priti’s husband and she doesn’t perform at the nightclub. “Though a lot of the pranks in the show are similar, the context of situations and the characterisation is Indianised,” says Shruti.
However, in her personal life she is right now happy being just a wife to hubby Danish Khan and doesn’t really want to take on the responsibility of being a mom very soon.

‘I fully support bisexuality’
Bisexuality is still a taboo in many sections of our society, but there are many celebrities who comes out of the closet to support it. Now, Vivek Mishra, actor and yoga trainer, joins the likes of those who vouch for personal choice and supports bisexuality.
Vivek, who grabbed headlines when he accused actor Raja Chaudhary of molesting him, asserts that it’s a personal choice to decide what one wants in life. “Every person is bisexual to an extent, they get equal opportunity to decide what they want. Some explore it and others don’t. There is nothing right or wrong about it. I don’t know why people tend to make an issue of it,” claims Vivek.
“Every human being has a right to choose and live life accordingly.
If we talk about urbanisation then we should not think about all such issues and create fuzz out of it,” concludes the actor.
Vivek enjoys ramp walking and has been a part of many successful fashion shows across the country.

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
