Varun Dhawan, who set hearts aflutter with his good looks and fabulous moves in Student of the Year, has an interesting line-up of films following his hit debut. In the pipeline are Main Tera Hero, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya and another film that will soon be announced.
The actor says, “I’m currently shooting for Main Tera Hero and it’s nice working with dad (David Dhawan) for the first time. I have to say Ekta Kapoor is an extremely supportive producer. Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya is an extremely special film as it is with Dharma who gave me by debut film. The third film will be announced soon so you will have to wait for that.”
All the actor’s upcoming films have him paired opposite the newer lot of actresses. Ask him if that’s how he always wanted it to be and he says, “Ileana isn’t really a newcomer. She has a good body of work down South and is an amazing talent. Nargis and I are on the same page being new to the industry, but I also get to work with senior actors like Anupam Kher in Main Tera Hero. For Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya I’m back with my first co-star Alia Bhatt, so that’s exciting.”
While Varun is busy shooting for his upcoming flicks, he adds that that does not stop him from having his share of fun. He reveals, “When I’m not shooting, I like to just chill and relax or play a sport. I am a huge sports freak, that helps me relax.”
The actor showcased his dancing skills in SOTY but when asked about it, the modest actor brushes off the compliments saying, “I consider myself an average dancer, but it is something I enjoy.”
Varun reveals it is his love for dance due to which he’s associated himself with Pumpstart, said to be a first of its kind dance ritual that also works as a fitness routine. Varun says, “This is a small way in which I could contribute to making people look after their health. It’s not very often that we actors get an opportunity to get associated with activities that are not commercial.”

I want to begin with a little story that was told to me by a leading executive at Aptech. He was exercising in a gym with a lot of younger people.

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
