CWG to bid adieu on a musical note
The closing ceremony of the Commonwealth Games is going to be as spectacular as the opening one. Singers like Zila Khan, Kailash Kher and Richa Sharma are expected to give a musical farewell to the participating nations.
For an elated Zila it’s a matter of pride to represent the county on a cultural and heritage front. While she didn’t reveal much of what she is going to perform, she said that her performance will have a global appeal. “This ceremony will be watched by audiences from across the globe, and I will connect with them as an Indian, I’m proud of my heritage,” said Zila, who’s busy with her ambitious project, Ustat Gah. The project aims at identifying, training and nurturing musically inclined kids from underprivileged backgrounds.
Kailash Kher however, said that he’s yet to get the conformation, but added, “If I get to perform there, it will be an honour of a lifetime. I may present something from my latest albums.”
The soulful singer, Kailash has also created a special song for the Games. “If I get to sing that, nothing like it,” he added.
“The closing ceremony is going to be a pleasant surprise, as all the participants are working really hard to make it memorable,” quipped danseuse Shovana Narayan, who’s the head of the ceremonies for the Commonwealth Games.
