Cricket enthusiasts enjoying a match together on a live screen at a restaurant

Come April and the IPL fever will be raging again. Cashing in on the T20 mega fest craze, city joints are coming up with a wide array of deals.

Stress-free evening with live cricket screening, music and food is an ideal way to catch up with friends. “We are offering interesting food-beverage combos based on IPL lingo. So a Super Four will be about two starters and four pints of beer and Super Sixer will have six pints of beer and one vegetarian or non-vegetarian platter. People wearing pink will be provided a vodka shot free on every sixer hit,” says Manish Sharma, director, Pink Room.
Says, Aashita Relan, director, Royal China, “Big screens have taken their positions and the cricket craziness is taking over the ambience of most food and beverage outlets. It is a different experience watching the matches on a big screen.”
With friends and live screens around, you actually do not care how much you eat or drink. Smoke House Grill is coming up with interesting offers. “We are offering 25 per cent discount on bottles, attractive cocktails or beers and snack combos for 8 pm matches. There is IPL merchandise on sale and daily IPL contests, where guests can win a round of shots, merchandise, tickets and after-party passes,” informs Shiv Karan Singh, owner, Smoke House properties.
Ritwik Khanna, an avid IPL follower, puts forth, “It is so much fun to chill over a couple of drinks with friends and watch the IPL matches. There is also a certain camaraderie that sets in with fellow followers whom you do not even know.”

Shekhar Kapur’s Bandit Queen didn’t make the cut. Neither did Shaji Karun’s Piravi, which bagged 31 international awards.
