Coolest hotspots for celebs this summer
With the temperatures soaring each passing day, everyone’s dying to escape — to misty valleys, mountain hamlets, forest retreats... City celebrities too are ready with packed bags to take off to cooler destinations and beat the scorching heat. Pleasant weather, family time and freedom from deadlines and meetings make for the perfect reasons to escape from Delhi. We do a check on where the capital’s high-heeled plan to spend their vacation time.
Old favourite london Riddhima Kapoor Sahni:
The socialite is sticking to her favourite destination — London. “Now that my daughter has started going to play school, we have to plan our vacations according to her holidays. We’ll soon be heading to Mumbai first to meet my family and then head to London, my all-time favourite destination. I have lived in London for so long that I feel a close connection with the place. Just walking on the streets of London feels like a different experience. And this time it is going to be special with Samara being there with us. Now that she is 2-plus, I am planning to take her to parks and the zoo. I am sure she is going to enjoy them all.”
Arty trip to New York Sunil Sethi:
“It will be work-cum-holiday for me this time. I am travelling to New York to promote a new collection — Out of India — that we have planned with an international designer. For this I’ll be travelling to SoHo, where the installations will be displayed, and for the rest of the time I’ll be in New York. Work is an excuse for the holiday. Since my family will be travelling with me, we plan to visit Metropolitan Museum of Art for sure and have some relaxed time away from the heat of Delhi. There is so much to do in New York, I am sure my visit will be full of activities.”
Beaches at cannes Tanisha Mohan:
“Like every year, we are headed to London. Since I have many relatives in UK, it continues to remain our favourite holiday destination. And our itinerary is full of plans on this visit. I am going to take my kids to all the theme parks in and around London before heading to the beaches in Cannes. We plan to go to Monte Carlo and South of France as well. National Museum and Madame Tussauds are must-visit spots for us as I want my kids to see some French art.”
Teaching stint at leeds Vikrum Baidyanath:
“I am headed to London for three weeks before I come back and go to Nepal for a month. I won’t call it a holiday as my family is not travelling with me and I’ll be mostly occupied teaching in summer schools at Leeds. But still, being in London is not less than having a holiday as there is so much to do. I would love to have some quiet time to myself in London before I enjoy the locales in Nepal.”
