Colour riot is the spring makeup trend
During his recent visit to Delhi, Dominic Cruz, education director and trainer, Kryolan San Francisco, reiterated the point that many makeup experts make — Indians are conservative when it comes to makeup. “Indians are not very experimental. They are already blessed with beautiful skin and eyes, so many go for the nude look,” says Dominic, who was in the capital to conduct a training session for makeup artists.
Talking about his observations of Indian makeup trends, Dominic shares, “India is a country with varied cultures that depict colours in life, and hence traditional makeup of all the culture has its own beauty. This I find most special about India. What I have observed amongst Indians is that when it comes to makeup, the eyes are their favourite area. They are inseparable from kohl. They go heavy in the eyes and keep the rest of the areas nude. What I would like to suggest to them is to try out something different and be experimental with colours and shades.”
Suggesting new trends for spring, Dominic adds, “The current trend for this season is slightly smoky eyes with emphasis on a more extended eye featuring a shimmering blue tone. I am also noticing more of a stronger lip liner look with softer lip colours.”
Dominic says Aishwarya Rai is the perfect Indian beauty. “She is one of the most beautiful women in the world. Her makeup always completes and complements her overall look,” he ends.
